DeJarnette Designs specializes in animation direction, traditional 2d & flash animation, storyboards, character design, caricatures, humorous illustration, children’s book illustration, realistic and fantasy art.

Layron DeJarnette is an Emmy nominated, award winning artist that provides illustration, animation, storyboards and conceptual art for several giants in the entertainment industry. He received training at Walt Disney Feature Animation in Orlando, FL and has illustrated and designed characters for Disney’s “The Proud Family” cartoon show and comic strip.

DeJarnette has also worked as a character designer, animation director and storyboard artist at various studios, including W!ldbrain, where he has designed and animated characters for HBO’s "The Ricky Gervais Show". Other studios include Warner Bros. Animation, Duck Studios, Hyperion Pictures and Klasky Csupo.

He has illustrated trading cards for The Topps Company’s "Garbage Pail Kids" and "Hollywood Zombies" series and sketch cards for the "Terminator Salvation" series. He has also provided caricature work for various publications and has illustrated many children’s and humorous books, including five books for comedian Jeff Foxworthy.

Hey X-PLOTION,

I saw your new GPK drawings. I recognize each character.

In your sketching, make sure the construction and proportions are correct. One way of checking proportions is to look at your drawing within a mirror. The reflected image will give you an idea of the accurateness of the drawing.
